I love how my face feels after a facial. So for this very Fancy Friday lets all get a facial. Either do your own with a recipe here or have a very fancy one at a very fancy day spa. mmmmmm. Lovely. If your feeling especially adventurous then throw in a milk bath.
Recipes for at home facials:
Brown Sugar Scrub: 1/2 cup Brown sugar, 1 tablespoon Olive Oil. You can use regular sugar if that’s what you have around. Combine in small bowl and then GENTLY scrub in a circular motion and always go upward and side to side on your forehead then rinse. Oh, and don’t forget your neck and hands, while your at it. You want to be careful with scrubs, and only do them at most 2 times a week. Because the sugar has rough edges it does a great job taking off the old skin, but you don’t want to damage the new shiny skin underneath.
You could use your favorite moisturizer and stop there if your short on time, otherwise lets move on to the mask! You’ll need oatmeal, honey and yogurt. 2 heaping tablespoons of oatmeal finely ground. (use your blender, chopper or grinder) or buy oatmeal flour. Then add 2 tablespoons of yogurt plain or vanilla work really well, if you have oily skin use strawberry yogurt. Then add 1.5 teaspoons of honey (honey is a great antibacterial agent). Mix it all up, and spread over your face and neck and enjoy for about 10 minutes.
While your waiting your 10 minutes, you might as well do it in a soothing milk bath. 1/2 cup of Epsom salts – 2 cups of dry instant milk 1/2 cup of baking soda then about 20 drops of your favorite oil, perfume or olive oil- sliced limes and rose petals are optional
Enjoy your Fancy Friday Facials!
