When The Secret the movie first came out, I thought wow some of this really makes sense. Living in the “real world” though I thought I should just test it out, besides I had nothing to loose.
I had wanted a new headboard for our bed. I knew what I wanted, but hadn’t found one and/or looked hard enough. We simply didn’t have one yet and I had tried all sorts of other decorator techniques – fabric hanging from the ceiling to look like a romantic tent and I was even thinking about painting one on the wall as an inexpensive way to pretend we had one… So one morning I stated out loud to no one in particular that I wanted a wooden colonial curvy with the finials on the post part. Sent the order on out to the Universe and forgot all about it.
A week later we were at my husband’s brothers home helping him with a car or some other project that brothers have a tendency to help each other out with. Then out of the blue my brother-in-law says, “Hey, you guys want a headboard?” (I had forgotten I had sent the order by now.) They had just gotten a whole new bedroom set and it was all log cabin. Now, no offense to anyone who likes the look of log cabin. I don’t love it, don’t want it for myself unless its in an actual cabin on the water or its also fine in someone else’s home. I remember saying something like – “Oh, it would have to be a king size.”
He said, “it is.”
I was trying to quickly think of nice ways to say, no thanks, as we were walking in the house. I was positive I wasn’t going to like it, I mean they were replacing something with log cabin furniture! What could be worse than log cabin furniture!?!?
We got to the living room and he turned it around it seemed like he was moving in slow motion, which was good, because I was still trying to figure out how to be polite and decline this worse than log cabin furniture headboard and wouldn’t you know it! It was exactly what I said I wanted, it was my headboard…the one I ordered from the Universe!!!! He even delivered it too!!!! Brought it over to our house the next day. From that moment on I was sold. I know the good Lord answers prayers, so call it what you want prayer, the Universe, my guardian angel…somethings working for us!
I keep reminding myself, don’t limit the Universe/God…they know what they’re doing.
What are your experiences with the Law of Attraction? or the Movie?
